Why do I need to keep my account with my current carrier active during the porting process?
If you cancel your account with your current phone carrier during the porting process, we won't be able to port the number as they will repossess the number and likely provision it to another of their customer's accounts.Can I transfer my current number to Intelafone?
We can transfer your number for a nominal one time fee. All you have to do is get us a completed copy of our Letter of Authorization and a recent phone bill from your current phone carrier so that we can work with them on getting your number. You also need to keep your account active with your phone carrier so they do not lease that number to another customer until we can get it from them.Can I port my number away from your service?
You would have to handle number porting with the company you plan on switching to from our service. You will have to keep your account active with us until they are able to port your number.What is the Letter of Authorization?
The Letter of Authorization grants us permission to work with your current phone carrier on getting your number ported to Intelafone.

Are there any number transferring fees?
We charge a one time fee of $15 to get your number transferred onto our service. This charge occurs once we recieve the Letter of Authorization and recent phone bill from you and we submit the number transfer to your current phone carrier. After the number port is completed you will see no other fees for keeping your same number.How long does the number porting process take?
Usually, depending on your current phone carrier, it can take about 5-10 business days to get that number transferred over to our service after we submit the number port. But untill the actual day the number transfers over, it will remain active with your current phone carrier so there will be no interuption in service to that number you want to keep.Does Intelafone pay for return shipping?
Intelafone is unable to refund the shipping fee for the device for both ways. While returning the VOIP Adapter is not mandatory, if you choose to send back the device we will refund the security deposit to your card.Are there cancellation fees?

We're a Voice over IP home phone service. The signal for our service comes through your internet connection. That means it does require a pre-established Cable or DSL internet.Does this require a computer?
Since our adapter plugs into your internet router, and not to your computer, the service does not require your computer to be on to make or receive calls.What happens if the electricity goes out?
Since the service requires internet for connection, the service would not be operational in the event of a power outage.What is digital faxing?
Digital faxing requires no other extra equipment. For us to provision you a digital faxing number it is and additional $5 a month to the service charge. Basically all you do is log into your webportal to send a fax. Intelafone supports documents and files in the following formats: Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word (doc, docx), HTML, Microsoft Excel (xls, xlsx), Rich Text Format (rtf), Text (txt), GIF Image (gif), JPEG Image (jpeg, jpg), Tagged Image File Format (tiff, tif).Does Intelafone service work with Satellite or Wireless internet?
Unfortunately, we don't suggest use of our service with Satellite or Wireless internet, as the latency is generally too high to promote good connection and thus we cannot garauntee quality, stable voice communication with that type of connection.Will I be able to talk while using the internet?
Surfing the web should not interupt your voice service or the other way around. It operates in tandem with your internet service, as if two computers were using the internet at the same time.Do fax machines or alarm systems work with this service?
Due to the nature of all VoIP services, Intelafone service is not designed to be used for data connections with modems, home security systems, fax machines and related devices. It is optimized for voice only and you may experience issues and inconsistencies when using Intelafone service in non-voice scenarios. This has lead us to develop Digital Faxing for intelafone accounts to make up for this limitation.How can I use multiple phones with Intelafone service?
The easiest way to use multiple phones with the service is to use a cordless phone system. That way you can have the main, answering machine phone plugged into the Intelafone VoIP adapter and then the other phone units retrieve service wirelessly from that unit.Does Intelafone accept collect Collect calls?
Intelafone does not accept Collect calls. That way we can avoid tagging extra charges on a customer's account for recieving unwanted Collect calling. Sorry for any inconvienence this may cause.Can I dial 900 area code numbers with my service?
Unfortunately, Intelafone does not support dialing 900 area code numbers.Are there contracts?

Initial fees include shipping, which amounts to $4.95 and a $20 security deposit for the adapter. This is a one time fee and is one of the reasons why we want to give you that first month free of service charges. If you ever decide the service isn't for you and return the equipment we'll get that $20 back onto your card.How much is the month to month phone bill?
After the initial fees you won't see any phone bill from Intelafone until the second month, where it will be $8.25 a month plus $3 in tax. So in total per month it will be $11.25 and that price will stay the same throughout how long you are with the service.How do you ship the device?
We ship USPS first class mail, so the device is likely to arrive within 2-3 business days.How much does digital faxing cost?
Digital Faxing comes to $5 for the provisioning of the digital faxing number and unlimited inbound faxing. Outbound faxes are 14 cents for the first page and 10 cents for each additional page.Can you take my order through Live Chat Support?
Your security is our priority. Thus Intelafone Representatives cannot actually accept Order information over the chat since a credit or debit card and its information are required to complete the Order form. You can, however, order online while keeping the chat open so they can address any questions or concerns you may have about the Ordering process.Does Intelafone have a free trial of the service?
We do offer the first month free of service charge for you to try the service and see if it is up to your expectation. While we do require initial fees for sending our equipment to your location those fees are refundable if you decide the service isn't working out and you cancel your account. There are no cancellation fees whatsoever and as soon as we get the device back we can refund the security deposit to your credit or debit card.Can I get a local number?
We can get you any area code you would prefer. You can also choose the three digit prefix, which comes after the area code. You can view the list of available area codes and prefixes by selecting that you want a new number on our Order Page.Can I order without a card?
Currently the only way we handle billing is by way of automatic withdraw from a credit or debit card. We don't offer any kind of paper billing at this time.Can I use my other Voice Over IP equipment with Intelafone?

Intelafone actually does not charge for local or long distance phone calls. We provide free calls anywhere in the United States and Canada.How is International Calling billed to my account?
Intelafone does offer international calling for each account. Billing is per-minute depending on where you call. Any accumulated charges under 5$ will be attached to your monthly bill. If you go over 5$ in international charges however it will bill it within 24 hours of the overage. Currently we do not offer any phone plans geared toward international calling or the purchase of international minutes in bulk.
